Ocala Has Great Mexican Food

Ocala is peppered with wonderful Mexican restaurants. Our reviews will help you decide which is right for your next meal.

What is Mexican food?
When we say Mexican, we mean all Latin food as opposed to Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Southern, or Fast Food. Refried beans, yellow rice, tortillas, plantains, enchiladas, burritos, tacos, sopes, chorizo, quesadilla, cilantro, flan, horchada. Old World, New World. Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, California, Texas and Florida.

How We Rate a Restaurant?
We use a three pepper scale. Here’s how it works.

  • 1 Pepper – This restaurant has food and drink. Eat here if it is near by.
  • 2 Peppers – This restaurant stands out from the rest and is a great dining experience. Eat here frequently. Take your friends.
  • 3 Peppers – This restaurant exceeds expectations. It combines delicious food, great atmosphere, and quality service for the best dining experience. Eat here weekly. Take a date.

What are your criteria?
When we look at a dining experience, we consider the following things:

  • Food
  • Salsa
  • Atmosphere
  • Traditional Recipes
  • Service

I don’t see a restaurant listed here. What’s up?
Perhaps, we don’t know about it. Or perhaps it does not serve Mexican food. Either way, let us know about it.
